been busy today

Yep, been rather busy with the sewing today. I made this sweet cushion/ pillow cover. Apparently Americans don't use the word cushion, they just call them pillows. But then how do you distinguish between the ones you sleep on and those for decoration?
Anyway..Hope you like it, I thought I'd branch out a bit and create some different, limited edition products. Because its a lot more fun making new things than becoming a production line churning out the same stuff all the time.

To add to my forest collection, I now have a cute new range of buttons/badges in my etsy store.
I'll also be selling them at the finders keepers market in May.

Christmas table decorations

This year I decorated the table and made some nice biscuits and petite fours. I went for a bird theme this year, as each year we like to have a theme.

Today's advent number was created by Siiri. whom as I was searching through her shop and only just discovered, is a fellow Sydney girl.

I chose to feature her cute bird cage necklace, because I had no excuse not to, I just adore bird cages. 'A free birdie' is a super cute one of a kind necklace.

I chose to feature another of Ruby's collages. This pretty bird aceo. I do love birds, I am going to do a bird theme this Christmas. We already have lots of bird nests and cages on our stick Christmas tree and I am making a bird nest cake and bird gingerbread cookies.


Hey Chica also sells some great vintage bits like old button packs and dress patterns. Which I do love.

Bird nest ipod/phone case

Looking for something a little more unique and stylish to carry your phone or ipod in?

Well I just listed this adorable little case!! my mum wanted me to make her a case for her phone, she had looked all over but everyone seemed to make the same boring phone purses, so she described to me what she wanted and this is how it turned out. We loved it so much I made another one to sell. HERE

I noticed that my tea cozies have been rather popular lately, so I decided to introduce a new design. So here it is the bird cake tea cozy, based on my bird cake art print.
I used yummy brown tea and coffee colours.

New fabric, new purse

I bought some Alexander Henry Bird fabric the other day. I like this yellow bird, he reminds me of the native parrots we get in our garden, even though he dosn't look the same, i think its just the bright yellow.
Well the fabric is now a purse!! I thought using black really made the yellow stand out. Have a look, its now in my shop

Im soo excited about my latest print. Typewriters and birds are two of my favourite things right now. And I love how this has turned out, so please take a look :)

I think this birdie has found one awesome perch to sit on, he looks pretty content.

This was all done on photoshop, the bird to a while to do, as I put a lot of detail into it, so im quite proud. I used a really cool bit of vintage paper for the background.

New shop in town!

My mum has opened a second shop selling art collages. She is having a lot of fun with this, as a new creative outlet. She has called the shop 'Cafe Baudelaire' with the idea being you would have a coffee while leisurely browsing through her art. Doesn't that sound lovely? So check it out!!!!
