I decorated an old bird cage, and put tea lights inside, this was christmas eve night, with all the candles lit.

Christmas tree 09

This year for our Christmas tree, we wanted to have a stick tree again like last year, but this time we wanted a more natural looking one, rather than white. Not sure how we would go about creating such a tree, one day my mum discovered willow branches at the supermarket of all place, which happened to be the perfect thing. More pics on flickr.

Bunting

I love decorating the house up for Christmas, and coming up with a theme. Here is the post about what I did last year.
I'm not one for traditional decorations, red and green is a bit done, and tinsel is rather tacky. This year i was thinking it might be nice to make some bunting. And not christmassy bunting, but with vintage style fabrics. Christmas being in summer here in Australia, I thought it would be nice to do something colourful and cheerful, a celebration of the holidays and end of year.

Just made my first Christmas decorations :) Bird cages.
I didn't bother with xmas decorations last year, but I thought I would hop in early this year and give it a go. Hope you like them

This morning my mum made these gorgeous little egg nests (totally edible) from shredded wheat with very cute chocolate speckled eggs.
