Economic design
How do we react to a recession? design of course, I find social design quite interesting, I think it is an important element to design, to look at what is happening in the world today and intepreting that through design.
Here are some examples of how people have responded to the down turn of the economy.
A6 post cards by Because Studio
Empty Magazine had to put the price of their mag up, but they didnt hide the fact, they made a deal of it.
An endearing card from 9SpotMonk
A clever interactive installation from the students of university of washington’s visual communication design program.
They have developed 'want' an interactive retail experience that is about educating college
students on how to become savvier with their money. More here
