Memories fade and moments are lost.
Sometimes I think its rather sad that we forget things, or that memories become vague, so many moments lost in the vast space of our complex minds.

papery bits

I love it when I find hidden gems on the internet, i.e sites in foreign languages, that google just wouldn't pick up on a normal English search. These beautiful little paper collages and illustrations are from Japanese artist and graphic designer Sakura. With a little digging, I tracked down her flickr page, myspace and blog.

been busy today

pillow

Yep, been rather busy with the sewing today. I made this sweet cushion/ pillow cover. Apparently Americans don't use the word cushion, they just call them pillows. But then how do you distinguish between the ones you sleep on and those for decoration?
Anyway..Hope you like it, I thought I'd branch out a bit and create some different, limited edition products. Because its a lot more fun making new things than becoming a production line churning out the same stuff all the time.

shes back

alice

Alice is back! If you recall, I lost the original file of this illustration. But after many painstaking hours of re-doing the illustration, Alice is back. Slightly different, but essentially the same girl. It's not easy to repeat a drawing!

And now you can buy her too..

Tram shed

bus

I discovered this amazing old tram shed in Glebe (Sydney) behind the Harris Park Raceway. Its an incredible old building, and a piece of Sydney heritage. It's a huge shed containing old run down trams. The place is falling apart and full of graffiti, it has a real urban grungy feel to it.
Though sadly according to the local paper they plan to turn the place into a shopping centre.See more photos on my flickr page.

Hope you like them :)

Our city lights

phones

I love this photo for a few reasons, 1. Its an awesome old vintage style photo. 2. I'm in love with the old dial telephones, 3. The very talented photographer behind this image has an etsy shop (i.e you can buy this photo as note cards!!) and 4. She also has a really nice blog, worth a read.
I love making awesome finds like this.

Bunnies and tea

bunnies

Well its back to the bunnies again. Despite being quite sad over losing my file yesterday, see previous post. I finished off this bunnies and tea illustration. Its sort of semi-Alice in wonderland inspired. Now for sale in my etsy store.
I'm considering re-drawing the other illustration that I lost yesterday, thank you to everyone for the lovely comments. Its really heart breaking to lose work, but perhaps I can do it even better the second time around.
I'm currently stuck on dial up speed at the moment as we used up our monthly limit, which makes blogging rather a slow process. Hopefully it'll be back to speed tomorrow.
