If when you look out the window you see something white and cold, or anticipate its soon arrival, you are most likey fortunate enough to be enjoying the holiday season in the Northern hemisphere, (unless you have purchased fake snow or work at a Santa photo cave) and you ought to note that if you wish to purchase Christmas gifts from sellers like myself in the hot, sweltering southern hemisphere, then you best get in quick, as the cut off for guaranteed international shipping arrival before Christmas is December 4th.
So before it is too late have a quick look at what the land down under has to offer.

Finders Keepers

Finders Keepers have joined forces with Happenstance Magazine to bring an all new line up of featured artists at the upcoming Sydney Spring/Summer markets event happening next weekend! (4-5 December).

I am going to be one of the featured artists, and I will have a few framed pieces up for sale. Including the above new illustration (wolf girl), which will be first available at the show.

Finders Keepers is a really amazing market, so if you are in Sydney, make sure you check it out.

My new website is now officially launched. Its been a hard slog but its now live in all its glory.
The main site has been created in flash, but there is also a vsn two for people without flash or if u just feel like viewing it in a non-flash format.

The 'Once Upon' opening was a great night, I got to meet lots of lovely artists and the work was just amazing! For those of you who couldn't make it here are my final artworks, finally revealed.
Two have sold. But the final two are still available for sale along with many other beautiful artworks on the once upon website. More pics from the night still to come.

Upcoming exhibitions

I have two very different exhibitions coming up very soon, all are welcome.
The first one 'Once Upon' is this Thursday, the 19th at Ambush Gallery, Sydney.
Opening at 6pm. Its going to be an amazing show, with many talented artists.

Opening night will be Thursday November 19^th 2009 at aMBUSH gallery from 6pm to 9pm, with the exhibition open daily from 10am to 5pm through to Sunday 22^nd November.


Second, my Tafe End of Year Exhibition, in which I will be exhibiting a typographic banner.
Opening night will be Wednesday December 2nd 2009 at Enmore Design Centre from 6pm.

london dreaming

I don't know why but I have a bit of a thing for the union jack, maybe its the British in me. I'd really love some old vintage union jack cushions, that would be nice

New business cards

My business cards came back from the printer today, very exciting! and they are great quality, I really recommended getting cards printed by offset rather than digital, the quality is just amazing. You may have noticed a few little changes to my identity lately, its a big work in progress. I am finishing tafe and entering the real world in under 3 weeks. So to prepare, I am doing the full branding bizo, updated logo, update blog, new biz cards, new website (to be hopefully launched next week some time) and of course getting my portfolio together. It's a rather major task, and a culmination of all I've learnt the last 2 years. I have been up past midnight most nights trying to get it all done. So lets hope it pays off :) Stay tuned for the revealing of my new website. (urg code is doing my head in)

Sydney Festival revealed

The Sydney festival logo and look was released last week, and I really like it. Lovely typography and logo. The yellow balloon that ties it all together is a nice concept, created by Saatchi Design, acting as a symbol of hope, optimism, renewal and ideas after what has been a tough year for many. Very beautiful..

New Inventors

If you live in Australia, you may have seen the tv show 'The new Inventors' on the ABC. Well last year, our teacher set us the task of designing a new title sequence for the show. We didnt have to animate it, but I decided to flex the old flash skills and have a go at animating it. And finally a year later, with a better understanding of preparing video for web, I have now got it up online :)

Its all about invention, and solving problems by inventing.

Ice cream tub

I've always been a lover of great packaging, often buying products for there packaging rather than the product inside. These ice cream tubs are so clever, so different from your average tub, and it really does tell a story of the flavor, as if the ice cream has a certain personality. A nice way to give you a scene of what the flavour will be like without even seeing a picture of the ice-cream inside. Branding by Storm BrandDNA.
