lego

Well it looks like I was right about Lego... back in October 2007, I wrote a blog on Phat! Clothing, suggesting Lego was to be an upcoming trend, well looks like I was on to something, because Lego accessories seem to be popping up about the place. It seems it hit the catwalks last year, and is now filtrating down into street fashion.

It started with Marc Jacobs..

And these Balenciaga shoes.

And now..

Time to go raid the old lego box!

Economic design

How do we react to a recession? design of course, I find social design quite interesting, I think it is an important element to design, to look at what is happening in the world today and intepreting that through design.

Here are some examples of how people have responded to the down turn of the economy.

Bag love

I went into Utech today and this owl bag caught my eye... its gorgeous! It was $130, hmmm... tempting..

Its actually more impressive in real life. From further investigation, I found it was designed by Amliya, though I can't find much on the brand, as far as I can work out they make a lot of novelty bags.

More happenings

Last week was another busy week, a few highlights included;

Well Wednesday night was another Enmore Talks, this time I wan't part of the team organising it, so I got to just chill out and listen to some really interesting speakers. My fav being sixty40. They do really cool animation, and have made ads for Kmart.
There was also provided free pizza at the talk, which was great :)

Then Thursday night I went to the Curvy launch with some of the Leeloo girls, which was lots of fun and the art was amazing!
It was nice to meet some of the other girls who sell there work through Leeloo.
This is us standing with Bec Winnel's art.

Then on Friday I went to Semi-Permanent which was really inspiring. AND... My work was in the Semi- permanent book, which was really exciting to finally see.
