Where do plushies live?

In a plushie house of course!! Lizette Greco is one very talented lady, she makes the most adorable soft toys, so if you are looking for a very unique soft toy, she is defiantly someone you should take a look at. I also love the way she packages them, so cute!

Pack it up! the arty way

Packaging is one of those things I find a great joy in. When I was in high school i would always wrap my friends presents up all fancy, they loved it. I would even decorate envelopes for cards. And last Christmas I wrapped everyones gifts all arty in brown paper with stitches, sketches and fabric, and typography. And I LOVE it when people wrap things pretty, its a shame to have to open it, but it makes giving a receiving gifts even more fun. So as Christmas approaches and sales increase I thought I'd take a look at some fun packing ideas.
Most of these came off flickr from etsy sellers.

This is really cute, I love using lace or fabric a but of textile adds great texture. I also like the way the type looks like its been done on a typewriter.

I like the use of pinking shears on the edges and they way they have stitched fabric together. Sewing on paper is fun and it look so cool!

This is a professional box, I love the use of cut outs, type and illustration.

More little sketches and hand writing.

This is a great way to send off a parcel. with an illustration on the pack. When my mum and dad where dating my mum used to do little water colour illustrations on envelops with notes to my dad.

This is simple but cute, especially the stitching, who needs glue when u can stitch
More stitches, but this time with ribbons and buttons, very sweet.

And finally, this one is awesome, using old images and hand written text. a package fit for a queen.

These boots were made for.. holding your coins

I made this cute little boot purse today :) its soo girly! Now I'm off to have some arvo tea with my IT manager/ brother. Then I have to get ready for a job interview, eek!
By the way if you hadn't noticed, or you stumbled across this blog for the first time, I just updated my blog, so its looking pretty different, please let me know what you think my bro helped me code it.

In an arty mood

Yes I certainly am. And I've been browsing around and found some more wonderful artists I want to share.

This is so adorable. I love the way they used type for the tea, especially in the tea bag. A very clever Illustrator.

ANTIGIRL

I love the use of collage and graphics.

Want to sell online? (Indie only)

When I think back a year ago, the only place I knew of to sell things you have or made online was eBay. But after coming across etsy a whole world of online selling opened up to me, and i began to come across more and more venues to sell your goods without having to set up your own website.
For some reason I get excited every time I find a new store, not just for future reference of a place to sell but also to see what they are selling, because I do love finding new things, and its a great way to come across original gifts for others or even for yourself. Please comment with any extra stores you know of so I can add them. :)
*NOTE: I'm only including places you can directly sell handmade goods.

Ice cream man

Aww isn't he cute. I came across another indie shop today called 'BettyJoy'. This little dude caught my eye. What made me laugh though was the description

'Eat your heart out Mr Whippy! Check out this cute tote bag with the cute smiley ice cream man! He even has sprinkles on his little head!! A tote-ally cool bag for all occasions - put all your goodies in for a pic nic, take to the beach this summer, for your college work or for your weekly shop - and its re-usable too. By Gemma Correll.'

I thought rather funny, seeing as I actually work at Mr. Whippy. (Ive linked it to a picture of the actual store I work at, hehe)

Anyway, after finding my little ice cream man i decided to see what else Gemma does. Here is some of her cool art I found.
