Christmas is coming...

...so I've started bookmarking my favorite Indie Christmas cards.

Enfin LaVoila makes gorgeous note cards cards, for something a little more quirky.
Invita Paper Studio has some beautiful paper goods, not just Christmas cards
and Michelle Brusegaard has some great alternatives to the traditional card.

the latest from london and new york

Its currently London fashion week, and New York Fashion week only recently passed, so I thought I'd check out what is install for next spring/summer (for us in Australia, this stuff won't be out for another year). So far ive spotted a lot of strong simplistic shape and structure, & geometric shapes. In terms of colour there is a lot of pastels, especially yellow, yellow has been popular for the last few seasons and dosn't seem to be about to leave. Black is also prevalent.

ordinary into extraordinary!

With concerns for the environment growing, the number of textile products being made out of recycled products is becoming increasingly popular.
It all began back when i was in high school with the tie. I saw a few textile projects that involved the use of sewing old ties together to create a dress, bag or other fashion item.

Then on my 18th birthday I went out shopping and I saw in a toy shop a children's pencil case made out of zippers all sewn together. My brother thought it was so cool he made one for himself, and i am still seeing them around as well as other alternative uses for zips.

Street fashions on style mob

I just recently discoved style mob, its a fun social network where people submit pictures of themselves or others in various outfits to show off there style and tastes, and everyone can vote on what they like and leave comments. I've seen so really unique, inspirational stuff on there, so its a good one to watch as trends often start on the streets. Theses are a few of my favorites.
